The American Jesus - God, Country and the Bible

The Apostle Paul warned about accepting "another" Jesus, a Jesus other than the one described in the Bible.

Many churches in the United States have accepted an American version of Jesus.  This  Red, White and Blue Savior cannot be recognized when compared with the description of the true Jesus of scripture?  And most readily look to American government! with it's Roman origins, as the provider of all their needs?

Is it any wonder that the lives of professing Christians in America look more like popular American society rather than the life called for by God in the flesh?

Evolution VS God - Do You Understand Your Own Beliefs?

Do you understand what is happening in American Culture regarding the Beliefs of professing Christians? Do you realize where the attack lies. Can you articulate your beliefs to those who may fundamentally disagree with them. Read this article and watch the video from Ken Ham and Answers  in Genesis.

Jesus & American Culture - The War of World Views

When it comes to how we, as Believers in Christ, conduct our lives on a daily basis, what standard have we chosen to determine and govern our actions? Does the increasingly perverted American culture hold our attention while we adopt their standards? Or do we seek the Culture of Christ for His Disciples as revealed in the Bible? Or is your attitude that of an increasing number among professing Believers, that it really does not matter as long as what you do is done with a heart for God?
Whose culture are you living out? The World's or Christ's?

Slavery is not About Race - It's About God and Mankind

Jesus said, "No man can serve two masters."

The Bible reveals that all on this earth are, ultimately and literally, slaves. We are someone else’s Property. We belong to someone else. Someone else is our master.

The Bible also reveals that you belong to one of only two ultimate masters.

You either belong to the God of the Bible and His Son Jesus as citizens of His Kingdom or you belong to the god of this World, Satan, as citizens of this World and his Kingdoms / nations.

Who is your master?

The Barriers of a Christian Worldview - Are All Spiritual Standards Equal?

Has man's involvement with the Bible rendered it untrustworthy?
In this day and age of breaking down ancient barriers and traditions, the idea of Christians depending upon a written standard for the conduct of their life is fast becoming unpopular. Instead, the idea of following the Spirit or seeking spiritual experiences that are not to be argued with or against has become dominant. The Bible is considered archaic and unreliable, since it was fashioned by man and has been tainted and changed by man through the centuries. The Holy Spirit or the spiritual realm is considered the arbiter of all things new, including a new way of living spiritually, and receives the approval of Jesus.
Do we question the Source of spiritual light?
So, if a person has a spiritual experience and receives some type of guidance or direction, it must be followed and trusted. It can't be questioned. To do so is considered being judgmental and contrary to Jesus and his unconditional love and acceptance.

The only problem with this is that this idea behind the New Spirituality is not new in this World. Solomon said that there's nothing new under the sun.

God addressed this type of situation in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, also. The New Testament phraseology is a little different, but just as applicable as the OT. The Apostle John said to "test the spirits, to see whether they are from God or not."

It was a known and accepted fact not all spirits were of the same character and origin, thus their purposes and methodologies were different. So, when encountering spiritual activity, blind faith was to not to be exercised.
There are various avenues of Spirituality - not all are equal.
The ignorance of this Truth from the Bible has lead many astray and down destructive paths not intended by The Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. May we be more careful about the Way we choose.

The Politics of Truth - Jesus, Truth & Courage

When it comes right down to it, the truth is something that many don't really take seriously. Talk about? Yes. Live out in you life? Now that's a different matter!

Many issues seem to be open to negotiation. While it might be the right thing to do and it might be what the Bible specifically commands us to do, but to actually do it? Oh, Please, be real! No one really lives that way, not in today's society!

In today's churches, even the Pastors don't, can't or won't come right out and say that something is right or wrong. It's all up to the individual or determined by the situation a person finds himself in. And only that person can determine whether something is right or wrong.

And worse, anyone who says that they know what is right and wrong is "hardcore." They are "judgmental." They are "intolerant."

And then there's Jesus, the one person everyone wants to identify with because He's so soft and cuddly. He never speaks harshly, never raises his voice, never condemns a person and never offends the sensibilities of those around Him.

Yet, when it comes to the particulars of His teaching, well, we shouldn't go too far. After all, to do the same things Jesus did, to actually follow His Words.........well..........we might end up just like Jesus, with people trying to figure out a way to eliminate you from their lives. It's called persecution. And it's something that Jesus promised if you identify with Him, live like Him according to all He said.

The fact is, that in spite of his popularity, the large crowds to hear him teach, the healings, the miracles, the kindness, the love, the gentleness, the anger, the rebukes, etc., they wanted Him dead. And they killed Him simply because He was a threat to their power and influence.

Don't be surprised when you aren't the most popular person in the room or the building for speaking and living the Truth. We are following in His steps.

President Obama, Democrats & Republicans - A Voter Fraud Conspiracy Made in...the Courts?

The Second Round of Hope & Change
Now that president Obama has been elected to a second term as President, much of the vitriol has subsided, though not easily. The one cry that has actually intensified, though, has been the repeated call for Federal and State authorities to conduct numerous election fraud investigations. The reasons run the gambit, from vote counts higher than the number of registered voters to vote machine malfunctions to voter intimidation to votes tallied for the deceased. But the cry continues.
Your tax dollars at work!
Prior top the election, yes beginning with the beginning of the primary season, concerns about potential voter fraud were voiced by various levels of government officials, appointed and elected. So it seems that these warnings, though offered as sincere political concern, were prophetic in nature, more so than many want to acknowledge.
Only Two votes?
Normally, I wouldn't pay much attention to these cries. For those who understand the sleight of hand exercises inherent with secular politics, simply understanding the procedural charade presented to the electorate provides peace when also coupled with Biblical revelation about the powers that be.

This reality was provided in four previous links (Link 1, Link 2, Link 3, Link 4), where the details of media ownership and control of voting data was controlled by an exclusive group with no governmental oversight. Of course, interest in such stark revelations tends to be rather benign, since it derails other long term political concerns, not the least of which is maintaining the status quo. Those who may carry the banner temporarily within the public realm are usually considered too extreme to take seriously, so are ignored. Others peacefully understand and maintain a distance outside the operating margins of secular political society.

Next comes this unexpected bit of information that, though some may find shocking, is not really all that surprising for the Biblically literate Child of God. This piece in World Net Daily delivers the news that confirms what some have thought for a  long time; that Democrats and Republicans are in collusion. They are officially working together per political agreement, not with the political opposition that is constantly paraded before the populace.

Thanksgiving for The Old Paths - The Ancient Ways for Man

The Old Paths

by Martin & Deidre Bobgan

Today most Christians wonder how to help troubled people without some form of counseling, from psychological to some form of biblical adaptation. Too many see the luscious-looking grass on the other side of the fence as being good for food, pleasant to the eyes, and desirable to make them wise.

Jesus is the good shepherd who leads His sheep to good pastures. He has given new life and sustains it through the Holy Spirit working in that new life. He has given His sheep wisdom from above through His Word, which is living, life-giving, and powerful. He is the one who searches the hearts of mankind. He is trustworthy to complete that which He has begun and to fulfill what He has promised.
God has marked the path for us to walk in His Word

Believers need to return to the old paths rather than sniff and nibble the grass on the other side of the fence. They need to stay close to the good shepherd and they need to be wary of those who through erudite speech would entice them to another pasture. They also need to watch out for those who would plant hybrid seeds that look even better than the real thing but starve the soul.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein (Jeremiah 6:16).

We pray that when we hear the Lord call us to the old paths we will not respond as the Israelites did, but turn again to the Lord and trust Him rather than the enticing wisdom of men.

Post Election Questions - Christians, Politics & God's Will

 By Ryan Bush

Christian resolve is, generally speaking, quite low at the moment.

So let's recall the recent unpleasantness that has saddened and confused the hearts and minds of millions of believers throughout the entire world and inject a sense of purpose back into the arena of Christian life. As born-again believers in Christ, we all know there's no real sense in running from our problems, right? And there's even less sense in letting a cloud of uncertainty fester and poison your outlook and weaken your faith.

With that said, let's get right to it. Barack Obama over Mitt Romney for the American Presidency: It's been on the lips of nearly every cognitive Christian for 36 hours running, and from it has sprung forth a well of deep-rooted emotion, ranging from frustration, to disbelief, to shock and to anger. And along with this, has surfaced a theme of what many on the outside looking in might consider to be supernatural occurrence. Yes, Christian America has spent the last day-and-a-half apologizing for "being so wrong" about the 2012 election. No, it wasn't Romney, but rather Obama.

For the onlooking secular crowd and the many young believers caught in the middle, these outpouring apologies from members of a religious sect that is widely viewed as a "dogmatic and thoroughly proud people" may overwhelm them with their humbleness and honesty. A Christian apologizing? A Christian admitting he was wrong? Can it be true?

Yes, it certainly is true, but as ambassadors of the risen Christ who rules at this moment from his heavenly throne, we need to address much more than just the shocking outcome on Tuesday. For a testimony to the world, as well as for the good of ourselves.

Whether you are a believer or not, please read and consider: What message does it send to the world when our prayers for the election of Mitt Romney, that we loudly prophesied to be according to Faith, ultimately wind up all for naught? What are they supposed to think after being told that Mitt Romney was "God's choice for President" that a re-elected Obama is actually "part of God's Plan?"

What happened to Romney in His plan? What happened to the saving grace that the Lord was about to bestow upon this nation that hundreds, if not thousands, of this nation's spiritual leaders promised us so confidently?

And how, after saying for so long that there was no way that a Christian could vote for Obama and all of his ultra-liberal views, can you reconcile that with the latest conclusion that God was in Obama's corner the entire way? Are you suggesting that God condones mass abortion, and a homosexual lifestyle and a communist governmental system that taxes the leather off of everyone's wallet? First God was a Being that never condones evil, now He's supposed to be all for it? Does this make God out to be a liar? Wasn't God supposed to stand with the lesser (that being Romney) of the two obviously liberal candidates? Does this mean that God is a liberal Himself?

And what of Romney's political campaign that so many Christians supported in a variety of different ways, and went on Christian talk-radio to promote Romney's cause, all in the name of Jesus? What of all the Scripture that was recited to sway voters with? Could all, or some, or the majority, of these passages from God's Word, be relegated to the status of misapplied truths in this instance, and pose as nothing more than outright lies? Have the spiritual leaders in America actually helped the throngs to live outside of the will of God, rather than directly in it?

And what is God's will in all of this, anyway? What is this "Plan" everyone keeps referring to, as if it's some exclusive club-members-only secret? A couple days ago, He was supposedly giving back America to the Christians, now some are being led to believe that we are in "exile", much like the Israelites were in the book of Jeremiah. Which one is true, if any?..............

You see, there's more here than just a little "oh, I was so wrong" moment can reconcile. You can't just shake your head and walk on, assuring everyone watching that "God's in control. This is all just a part of His plan." This isn't the time to save face. There has been damage done. There have been promises made, that have gone unfulfilled. There have been promises believed, that will never be realized. In retrospect, there have been lies spoken, and lies believed by a whole host of people that claimed to be walking hand-in-hand with the Lord. It doesn't take much of an examination to discover that such was hardly the case at all.

Yes, this election has been another disaster for the Christian world at-large. They not only have misrepresented the God of heaven and earth, but have helped make the very idea of their actually being a Supreme Being a joke to so many unbelievers watching from a distance. We have left some of them in a state of confusion, rather than conviction and faith.

The psalmist said "Teach me your way, oh Lord, that I may walk in your truths. Give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name."

Christians need to allow the Lord to teach them His way, and the only way is to go back to the Bible where all His Truth is written down. John 1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

They need to seek the wisdom and understanding for discernment, rather than simply accepting whatever is offered to us. I John 4 offers an explicit warning to all believers: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Who can argue with that last verse? The evidence for it is all around us. As is the Truth and wisdom of God Himself.

And if God's Truth doesn't provide a sense of purpose and direction and protection and joy within your heart, nothing on this earth ever will.

Christian Worldview - Are Christians to Suffer A Political Holocaust?

Note: This article was written during President Bush's Second Term

In this article from World Net Daily, Rabbi Daniel Lapin gives a stern warning to American Christians that there are concerted attempts to diminish or actually exterminate the influence and impact Christians have in the world today, especially in the political realm. He provides proof of this campaign by citing the many examples of books currently being published containing overt anti Christian rhetoric and bias.

So, presuming such a plan has been implemented, how is such a large campaign carried out to successful fruition? With hundreds of millions of Christians in the world and tens of millions in the United States and with an Evangelical Christian as President in George W. Bush, how does one eliminate such a large population group? Is it possible that a worldwide holocaust is about to begin? I admit that such a thought seems out of the realm of possibility in such a civilized era such as ours, but do we dare eliminate this possibility, seeing that we are only 60 years removed from the human blight of Adolf Hitler?

Even now, the world is being warned of the potential repercussions of Europe's rejection of Christianity by Pope Leo XVI. And America is faced with the same consolidation of Europe into one bloc of nations, The North American Union. Are we to face the same annihilation through amalgamation of law and culture Europe has experienced? Are we about to see the distinctives of America become merged with those of Canada and Mexico? If so, what are the implications for the Christian?

Do the policies of Hitler return under the same type of human rights concerns? Are Christians going to be eliminated because of their negative impact on the world around them? Does the morally high ground of Christians and their God become the sacrificial altar upon which their literal blood is sacrificed. Do we see the policies of Cain make a widespread return? Is this to be the reaction of Cain to the righteousness preached by the Prophet Abel? Or do we turn a deaf ear to such ridiculous notions?

Or maybe the concerted effort to eliminate Christian ideas is to subvert their Christian distinctives. Is it possible that the best way to eliminate your enemy is to convince them to join you? Are Christians even aware of such modus operandi? Is it even a consideration that Christian enemies are subtly luring Christians into beliefs and practices that Jesus Christ never condones. Are we being sold a bill of spiritual goods which the Word of God specifically condemns?

If so, what are the results of such a diabolical subversion? Could it be that the plan is to turn Christians into the same as everyone else around them. They look the same. They believe the same. They act the same. They unknowingly serve the same agendas. Their values are slowly morphed into the will of others they know not. Their ignorance is used against them. And in the name of serving God, abominations against their God are engaged in.

Does this sound rather far fetched? I can understand why if that is the case. But the realities of Jewish elimination under the righteousness of the Third Reich in the not so distant past should serve to tell us that human depravity ever lurks beneath the thin veneer of civilized man. In fact, it could be said at this time that civilization has developed cracks and gaping holes which are in danger of becoming the norm, something the Jews know about intimately.

He that has ears to hear...........

Liberty in Christ - Free from the Law?

The next time you get stopped by a Police Officer, try convincing him that he's nothing but a legalist and he's impeding your liberty in Christ because Christ has made you free from the law! See how far that gets you!

The Evolution or Creation of a Confrontation? Ken Ham Challenges Bill Nye, The Science Guy

In case you haven't heard, Bill Nye The Science Guy has been challenged to a debate by Ken Ham, Founder of Answers in Genesis, an apologetics Ministry.

Bill Nye caused a rucus when he termed the teaching of Creation as detailed in the Bible book of Genesis as "inappropriate" to teach children.

Ken Ham and his staff have rebutted his assertions prior to this public challenge.

We shall see if Bill Nye can withstand the result of his evolutionary zealousness!

Christian Worldview - Evolution & Science Vs Creation, God & The Bible

Bill Nye The Science Guy
Ken Ham - Answers in Genesis

In the seemingly never ending antagonism between science and religion over the issues of the validity of the theory of Evolution as opposed to the literal merits of the Bible, there usually fails to be a truly coherent understanding of the major issues at hand. This happens for various reasons but, regardless, there need to be some clarification in order to at least begin to eliminate some of the confusion that many seem to have in attempting to draw basic conclusions. I believe this to also be the case in the recent furor created over the comments of Bill Nye The Science Guy and Ken Ham, Creationist proponent from Answers in Genesis.

The first thing that I believe is vital to eventually coming to understand the issues involved and resolving any supposed conflicts of information is patience. Any one who thinks that they will begin to wade through the voluminous amounts of information available to inspect and compare and immediately come to an understanding is being slightly naive.

The second thing I believes needs to be understood is that there is a huge amount of information available that is simply wrong to begin with or the information available has been used in the wrong fashion and is being presented with certain conclusions being presented as fact. This is true of both sides of the debate. Yes, that includes the "Christian" side.

So, not everything presented as science is truly science as observable and verifiable fact. And not everything presented as Bible Truth is verified as Truth when compared to the whole context of the Bible.

Creation Evidences Museum
Dr. Carl Baugh
So, to add an interesting twist to this ongoing struggle between Science and the Bible, I offer this link to a thesis paper written by Carl Baugh, Founder of The Creation Evidences Museum in Glen Rose, Texas.

The paper proposes the scientific and Biblical probabilities of a Pre Flood crystalline canopy over the earth using both Scripture and Science.

You may think that this is rather unique in the field of Science and Scripture. It is more than unique. Dr Baugh has a patented Hyperbaric Pressure method of growing plant and animal life in a working model on the site at Glen Rose. This working model simulates living conditions before Noah's Flood as recorded in Genesis. More information is to come on that at a later time.

Christian World View - Bill Nye & Ken Ham

Bill Nye The Science Guy
Bill Nye, The Science Guy has recently caused an uproar over his video assertion that it is inappropriate to teach children that Creation as recorded in the Bible in the book of Genesis is factually correct. Proponents of the Theory of Evolution, of which Bill Nye is one, insist that the facts of the modern scientific record do not support the literal account of Genesis.

A portion of this video was recorded in front of the Creation Museum built in Kentucky by Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, an apologetics ministry. It has currently received over 3 million hits.

Ken Ham and his staff were quick to respond to this details of this video and its implications. Access to the full multi-media response can be found at his blog, Around the World with Ken Ham. Another blog post can be found at Truth Buyer of Christian World View.

The Political Smokscreen of Voter Fraud

Since this election cycle really kicked into high gear, there's been one issue that is a recurring theme. All major media news outlets are repeatedly raising the issue of potential voter fraud. Of course, this is followed by the soothing news that all is being possibly done to minimize voter fraud of all types and insure legitimate election results.

With that said, I wonder if the general population really understands how the election process works when it comes to tabulating votes around the country, then reporting the results to the public?

To understand the state of affairs since at least 1964, please read the following three pieces of information. The first one concern the workings of the then Voter News Service. The debacle of the 2000 election began a cry for voter election reform. The second also details earlier instances of voter fraud. The third is about the result of this cry for reform, the National Election Pool with Edison Research being the sole provider of exit poll data. This shuffling of the deck simply continued election business as usual.

So I ask you. How much faith do you have in a process that allows no oversight of its work? Can you see how the issue of voter ID fraud is a fraud itself?

Kinda makes me glad that the King I serve occupies His throne by Divine Right of Absolute Perfection!

The Conservative & Liberal Media Bias About Planned Parenthood & Komen

If you've ever heard the rants and raves of liberals and conservatives regarding the bias of each other, then you received a rare treat this past week when the bigoted proclivities of each was on full display. And it wasn't a pretty sight, especially where the truth was concerned.

Fortunately, someone displayed the patience necessary to actually read the official statements of the Susan G. Komen Foundation regarding their decisions about funding future grants to further their specific aim of helping in the fight against breast cancer and breast cancer detection.

That someone can be found HERE!

The National Prayer Breakfast - Did God Speak Through President Obama?

Well, President Obama's done it again. He has Christians of many stripes in an uproar because of his callous and potentially unpardonable sin; he quoted Jesus as support for his idea of taxing the rich.

I must admit, if you're going to the National Prayer breakfast as a politician, Jesus is One you might want to associate yourself with, especially when it comes to advocating a policy not highly regarded among most of the Evangelical audience. But, needless to say, this action wasn't warmly received. In fact, as I said, most are outraged and expressing their shock, disdain and offense at such highly insensitive and proud remarks.

I must wonder though, if the denunciation of President Obama's use of the Bible (The King James Version at that!) to give credence to the plan to increases taxes on the rich in American Society is being thoroughly examined by anyone? All I hear so far is the bemoaning of poor Bible exegesis by the President and castigating him for his audacious actions of teaching the National Prayer Breakfast multitudes using the very Words of God in the flesh for his proof text.

A Little Reality is in order.

The most common argument against Obama's use of Jesus' words is the misapplication of them by the President. It is being said that in Luke chapter 12 Jesus was talking about personal responsibility before God and God alone for the use of resources acquired by someone. The idea that this could apply to a relationship involving Government and a taxpayer was not considered and should not be considered at all. This is simply between God and and an individual.

For the Believer in Christ serious about "rightly dividing the word of truth," it is easy to overcome this objection. It must be remembered that Jesus in no way eliminated an individual's relationship with "Caesar." The phrase "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" is one of the most well known comments of Jesus especially when considering the duties and responsibilities of Believers in Christ toward secular government. Surely, those raising the cry against President Obama at The National Prayer Breakfast are not going to deny Caesar, in this case, The US Government, the right to ask the individual to pay legitimate taxes, are they? Putting the issue of what is "legitimate" or not aside, the issue of paying lawfully due taxes to Caesar should not be of concern in this instance. If it is, then a whole new series of issues arise outside the scope of this discussion.

So, assuming that the issue of paying lawful taxes to Caesar is not at issue, we are left with nothing more than disagreeing with President Obama about the limited set of Scripture cited by him in his statements about taxing the rich and the rate of taxation to be levied by the Obama Administration on the "rich." We are left with nothing more than rank secular politics.

The Real Core Issue

What we are left with is the fundamental difference that many professing Christians in the United States have with the policies and beliefs of President Obama. As stark as these may be, they, in no way, detract from the true duties and responsibilities these same professing Christians have toward the Obama Administration as outlined in the same Book cited by the President:

  1. They are to honor this administration.
  2. They are not to "rail" against this administration with their words and actions.
  3. They are to submit to this administration short of disobeying a direct command of Jesus.
  4. They are to pray for the salvation of the Obama administration.
  5. They are to acknowledge that the Obama administration is "ordained by God" to be in power at this time in history.
  6. They are to acknowledge that the Obama administration is ordained by God to reward good and evil.
  7. They are to acknowledge that the Obama Administration are the "deacons" of God to oversee good and evil.

Assuming that these defined duties are being responsibly exercised, should it concern professing Christians that "bad" laws are being passed in this country that negatively impact its citizens? Everyone will agree that "yes" it should concern us a Christians!. But is that all that we should ask? I say that it isn't. How about one more question?

WHY???????

Most concerned with the issue of bad laws will usually resort to the safe haven of faulty ideology on the part of the Obama Administration. While simplistic as best, it does not reach to the root of the problem for God's people. Fortunately, we are not left to our own understanding. Jesus and His Prophets have previously spoken. We would do well to listen.

Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 that He didn't come to destroy the Law, He came to fulfill it. Two verses later, He also states that the person that breaks the least of His commandments and teaches men so, is the least in the Kingdom of heaven; that whoever does them and teaches them is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Prophet Ezekiel had a few things to say on behalf of God to the Israelites regarding the Law. The 20th chapter of Ezekiel tells how God had given them Laws, Statutes and Judgments to live their lives by. But they rejected these and turned elsewhere. Because of this rejection of God's Laws, Statutes and judgments in their lives, God says that he gave them "statutes that were no good and judgments whereby they should not live."

The reason for God doing this was simple, "to make them desolate that they might know that I am the LORD."

American Spiritual heritage is full of professed Believers in Christ denying the validity of Gods Law over us in our lives. The reason given is that "we are not under the law." Galatians reveals that he that is under the law is under the curse of the Law. However, a little Bible exegesis reveals that what we are no longer under, what we have been redeemed from is not the law, but the "curse" of the Law. Paul tells us further that the Law is holy and spiritual. He finally tells us that by faith, the Law is established. But, alas, Believers by the droves have officially rejected the validity of their duty to conform their lives to God's Law. And we wonder why our lives in America are steadily looking toward the bleak side while we point the finger currently at the Obama Administration.

Is it possible that the actions of an administration so poorly thought of by many Americans are, in truth, in line with the God of the Bible we supposedly so diligently follow? Is it possible that the further taxing of the rich is an indication that we are under the judgment of God. Is it possible that the scourge of Abortion is another indicator?

Please understand me. I'm not saying that all these bad laws and their outworking are leading to God's Judgment. God's Word says that the bad laws ARE the Judgement of God. Obama is simply speaking and carrying out God's oversight of the universal principle of sowing and reaping. Christians living in America have sown the rejection of God's Law. We are now reaping the inevitable result, bad laws of men.

Is it any wonder that we don't like them? A holy and righteous God awaits our repentance.

American Family Radio, Bryan Fischer & Conservative Media Bias

I was listening to American Family Radio Host Bryan Fischer today while he questioned a guest about the remaining GOP candidates' individual deficiencies as viewed by Evangelical voters. In the question, Fischer cited the non-mainstream Mormonism of Mitt Romney, the past infidelity of Newt Gingrich, the quirky views about Prostitution and drugs of Ron Paul and the Roman Catholic Faith of Rick Santorum. I immediately was flabbergasted at the bias of the question from this supposed proponent of the Truth.

I've said before that AFA's choice for the presidency was Rick Perry and had been from before the beginning of the run by Perry. It went back to at least prior to The Response coordinated by Rick Perry in Houston Texas. Though publicly not allowed to endorse a political candidate because of their 501C3 status with the IRS, it has been obvious who they prefer. And it hasn't been limited to Bryan Fischer, but runs the gambit of radio personalities as well as management and staff.

Since the departure of Perry, the AFA favorite to defeat President Obama has been Newt Gingrich. Romney, his Mormon faith and liberal politics are not thought to be able to mount a viable campaign against the Obama administration. So the most attractive candidate ideologically is Gingrich. This has become more evident with Gingrich's win in South Carolina and the supposed momentum gained from that victory.

The bias I am referring to has to do with the supposed weaknesses of Gingrich and Santorum. As stated, Fischer referred to Gingrich and his past marital failures while the glaring weakness of Santorum was his non-Protestant Roman Catholic Faith.

The bias lies in this fact. Newt Gingrich is also a Roman Catholic. Please tell me how this failed to be mentioned. Tell me also how this is a negative for Santorum but not for Gingrich.

And you thought media bias was only for the liberals!

Curfews & The Role of American Parents

The issue of curfews for children occasionally resurfaces in various locations in the United States. This time the State is California. As reported on One News Now, The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors will review a proposed daytime curfew for children under the age of 18.

These laws, when proposed, usually create a firestorm of negative response from parents and parental organizations, especially among those homeschooling their children. The reason is rather obvious from a parental viewpoint. A daytime curfew would "restrict the constitutional rights of minors and instead encourage officers to selectively detain the youngsters."

Surprisingly, Finn Larsen of Christian Educators Association International says that parents are partly to blame for the problem. ""It is unfortunate that many parents, for whatever reason, are not providing good oversight and care for their children," he laments. "So what this does is it allows the state, if you will -- the police, the government -- to have a little bit more exercise of authority in a problem that, again, is growing.""

For those who may possess a little more curiosity than the normal resident, it may be interesting to know how the State views its citizens. Does it strike you as hypocritical that any State of the Union would attempt to impose itself within the family sphere in order to alleviate a problem, especially when that problem stems from a lack of parental oversight?

The answer is very simple. It is also written into law. The fact is that the State claims ownership of its citizens through the legal doctrine known as Parens Patriae, the State is the Parent of the Nation. So, when the property of the State, in this case the parents, aren't performing their civic duty, the State has the right, nay, the duty, to step in and correct the problem. The state is simply taking care of what is legally theirs. And, ultimately, the State's property will not and cannot determine what the State will do.

If you think that this is un-American and Unconstitutional, save your breath. This concept is as old as civilization and was present in the American Revolution. Benjamin Rush, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence and Founding Father extraordinaire, had this to say about children. "We must teach our pupils that they do not belong to themselves, but are public property."

Do you remember hearing that in history class? I didn't think so! Think about it.
